Certain Change in the seasonal occupation visa for New Zealand

People who wish to immigrate to New Zealand on the seasonal occupation basis will have to stick to the policy of recognised seasonal employment which would be practised by the employers. Many employers wish to woo foreign workers to get a maximum benefit from their work will now have to implement the same. But the policy by which an employer can call foreign workers to live seasonally in New Zealand is going to have some amendments with the introduction of a new- New Zealand work permit, mentioned the New Zealand Immigration Minister Jonathan Coleman.
The new- New Zealand work visa would be called ‘Supplementary Seasonal Employment Permit’ and would be granted to some foreign workers who are already living in New Zealand on the employment basis. The visa would be granted for a period of 6 months and they would be able to move around SSE approved employers. People would be able to move around and pick up a job of ‘picking fruits’ or seasonal things during the harvest season. The wages given would be the same as those to New Zealand residents, states the new rules. Apart from that the workers would have to have a health insurance which would be organized by the SSE employers minimizing the burden on the employees. The new plan would not put any restrictions and would attract workers to work in New Zealand under seasonal harvesting.

Demanded Skilled Occupations in Australia

The Australian Man Power’s Fourth Annual Talent Shortage Survey highlighted that with the shortfall of skilled occupants in Australia, the employers in Australia are finding it difficult to fill the vacant positions in their companies. The top 10 occupations that are difficult to be filled by the employers list include Engineers, Technicians and Machine Operators. The results of the survey are on the basis of the interviews of nearly 11,500 employers of Australian firms. Although there are many jobless individuals in the market in Australia, but the difference happens when the skills of the employee does not match with the required skills for the job.

The Managing Director Lincoln Crawley said, “Despite high levels of unemployment in many markets, this year’s talent survey suggests a mismatch between the type of individuals available for work and the specific skills that employers are looking for”. According to him, the companies are being taught as how can they mould the already existing employees to help them sharpen their skills more creatively and strategically as how can they utilise them to help them supervise their talents. “Employers are looking for ways to accelerate their business strategy with less people. It’s this specificity of skills required in the individuals that employers are now seeking that is creating a sense of talent shortage amidst an overabundant pool of available workers. This challenge is frustrating both employers and individuals,” he said. The survey highlights that the skilled vacancies are difficult to be filled in recent years with the vacancies ever increasing to fall in a second place this year.

UK Student Visa Application Form Changed under Tier-4 UK Immigration

On 1st June 2009 new application forms were released with many changes in policy guidance for applicants applying under Tier 4 system of Student Visas. The application procedure of Tier 4 student visas is under the points based system. In other arrangement for the same category- the students have to show that they have sufficient funds to live in the UK rather than just showing limited number of funds for a specific period of time. The above said arrangements would be extended until 30th of September 2009.

Apart from that, certain measures would be drawn to keep the privacy of the account holder as for some cases the account number wouldn’t have to be provided in some cases. Also for the financial part, an official financial sponsorer would be permitted to show that they can also financially support the immigrant’s dependents.

Therefore, keeping everything in check, the application forms are now re-constructed to keep an easy track record of the person coming on student visa and the financial aspects of the forms would be more clear which would highlight that they have sufficient amount of funds to study and live in the UK. However, the students studying outside London would not be affected by the higher level rules of the same.

Canada to Attract More Indian students

Good news for those who wish to study in Canada as the immigration bureau would be amending its rules and regulations to make the international students gain a student visa within just seven to ten days. This route is especially taken into account to attract foreign students to come and commence their studies in Canada. The scheme for allowing students to study in Canada will also follow problems of bogus documentations as many immigration agencies have duped students by showing the same leading them to a rejected application by the authorities in Canada. To keep a check on this, the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi would be performing certain checks for the forged documents of fake students allowing genuine students to get an actual chance to study in Canada thereby boosting the number of Indian students going on a student visa. Since there was a high rejection rate in 2008 on student visas, the Canadian High Commission is expecting to draw many Indians students to study in Canada this year. The new scheme for the same would be simple and focus on the genuinity of the financial status of the applicant. As it is widely accepted that Canada has one of the world’s best universities than the US, so the students going to US would be attracted towards choosing Canada instead. The motivation of attracting more students would also be to boost the population gap and also the economy of Canada helping the country generate more money for its economy by welcoming foreign students. There are several advices that the Canadian High Commission is giving to the aspiring students such as-
Choosing a genuine and registered agent with good track record
Choosing a registered university and a right course to study
Genuine documentation for the application files

The chances of filing for an appeal would be very rare if fake documents were found with the applicant, resulting in blacklisting of the applicant as well, reported the Canadian High Commission.
